history of india history of temples old mahadev mandir markand pimpri

 Hemadpanthi mandir, markand pimpri

In the middle of two mountains, The mountain of ‘saptashrungi temple’ and the mountain of markandeya,  the beautiful, rare but demolished Hemadanthi styled mahadev mandir is based or situated in the beautiful  nature . The temple is mostly demolished because of lak of attention of tourists, people, and the government . The temple is dedicated to Mahadev or Lord Shiva, and it is situated atleast  62 kms away from nashik district of Maharashtra.

Me and my family were going to visit this ancient temple from nashik by Nasik - Kalwan road, then we turn right from the place where there  is a arch where the name of the temple is painted so i’ts useful to take turn. From that road Markand Pipmri village is about some distance. we asked to lacal people about the temple and they  guided us towards temple; and the good thing is you can go there by car .

This temple Located to the west side of Village Markand Pimpri.  It is made in HEMADPANTI style. Front wall and roof is damaged but core part (GAABHARA) is in better condition. the shivling is also beautiful and there is a hole in thebackside of the temple . locals says thet in that hole there is a source of water which never stops and people use that water to do abhishekh to the shivling.

Previously one saint was looking after the temple but the property dispute over land where the temple is situated push him away from there and now one local farmer owned the area. But still temple is open to all. No proper care is taken. Premises is very natural. Many small sculptures carved in Basalt rock were found like  Shiv-Parvati,  Ganesha etc. Pillers have simple design. Roof is made up of large sheets of stones, few stones fallen. In monsoon area looks Georgians. Stream flows from back side. this place has not so crowd so good place for people who do meditation.  Another small temple is located in the same premises of the main temple.  Markandeshwar mountain and Saptshrungi Mountain were seen in the premices of the temple. We can see these temples. One Percolation tank is build nearby.

We asked locals about the history but none of them gave us the information about the temple. but one of them said that Chatrapati shivaji maharaj came and visited the temple once. this is the nly information were we got about that temple

so this was the day which I learned to feel the peace and silence. and also I saw how a thing gets broken or demolished if we didn’t give attention and take care of it.
